A systemic study of e-business risk management

With the rapid development and wide applying of Internet technology, doing business through Internet has been an inevitable trend by many enterprises. The risks to e-business from breaches of security and privacy are well known. However, management circumstances and operating have got great changes, which makes traditional risk management confronted with challenges. And there is very little attention given to other important e-business risks by researchers, such as strategic risks, organizational risks, e-business policy risks and e-business risks information system, etc. The paper made a system of e-business risks through analyzing various kinds of risks in electronic commerce firstly. Then by using the knowledge of the trade economy, socio-technical approach, informational equilibrium and game theory, the paper researched e-business risks assessment through risk assessment methodology flowchart and e-business risk assessment matrix based on the work of other researchers. The last, the control of e-business risks had been discussed, and risk mitigation methodology flowchart, a proposed model for control of e-business risks were founded, which is helpful to how to avoid the risk of e-business risks.
