摘要
We examined kinetics of Rho regeneration and dephosphorylation in rodent retinal degeneration models (P23H and S334ter rats). In addition, the effects of several Ca(2+) channel blockers were also studied. Rho dephosphorylation was significantly delayed in P23H retina as compared to wild rats, whereas no Rho phosphorylation was detected in S334ter. Among several Ca(2+) channel blockers, nilvadipine showed a significant protective effect against both retinal degenerations, The present study indicates that different types of misregulation of Rho phosphorylation may be involved as an important step in retinal degeneration of P23H and S334ter. Administration of Ca(2+) channel blockers may be potential therapeutic agents for these retinal degenerations.
