Core/shell -structured NiMoO4 @ MoSe2/NixSey Nanorod on Ni Foam as a Bifunctional Electrocatalyst for Efficient Overall Water Splitting

摘要
NiMoO4@MoSe2/NixSey nanorod has been prepared on a Ni foam (NF) and used as a bifunctional electrocatalyst for both hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER). The NiMoO4@MoSe2/NixSey on NF showed a core-shell structure in which one dimensional (1D) nanorods (NRs) are covered with hierarchical MoSe2 and NixSey nanosheets. This hierarchical structure is featured with high electrochemically active surface area and easy electron transportation, thus leading to low overpotentials for HER with 0.069 V vs. RHE at 10 mA cm(-2)(eta(10)) and for OER with 0.290 V vs. RHE at 200 mA cm(-2)(eta(200)), respectively. More importantly, NiMoO4@MoSe2/NixSey-6/NF, as a bifunctional electrocatalyst for both HER and OER, affords excellent electrocatalytic activity for water splitting with a quite low cell voltage of 1.50 V and good stability for more than 12 h. Its superior performance over water splitting will provide a promising perspective for industrial water electrolyzers.
