Screening effects on the in-medium NN inelastic cross section

The screening effects on the in-medium NN --> N Delta cross section have been investigated within a relativistic self-consistent description. We have found that sigma NN* --> N Delta, rather than increases monotonously with the increasing of density, bends down at certain density when the imaginary part of pion self-energy insertion is taken into account.
