Polarized electron scattering from polarized deuterium at BLAST

The Bates Large Acceptance Spectrometer Toroid (BLAST) was built to study the spin-dependent electromagnetic interaction in few-nucleon systems. The experiments use the longitudinally polarized electron beam in the MIT-Bates South Hall Ring, a polarized atomic beam source with the target cell internal to the storage ring, and the symmetric large acceptance BLAST detector. Preliminary results from the vector and tensor polarized deuterium target are presented, including measurements of quasielastic electron scattering, G(E)(n), and T-20.
