摘要
In this study, the mechanical properties of a novel high niobium-containing gamma titanium aluminide alloy with increased beta-stabilizing were compared with those of a conventional high niobium-containing alloy. Furthermore, the effect of a small amount of boron and carbon oil the mechanical properties of the alloy was investigated. Therefore, tensile and high cycle fatigue tests were performed in the temperature range between 25 degrees C and 800 degrees C. Axial fatigue tests were carried out in fully reversed loading (R=-1) at frequencies of about 50 Hz and 100 Hz. The paper will highlight the most important findings contributing to all assessment of the potential of the novel high niobium-containing alloy.
