Levels of organochlorine pesticides and PCB congeners in the Gulf of Elefsis

摘要：
The aim of the present study is the determination of 16 organochlorine pesticides and 7 PCB congeners in water, suspended solids and sediments, taken from five sites of the gulf of Elefsis during 1992 The results of this survey show the real tendency of organochlorine compounds to accumulate more in suspended solids and sediments than in the dissolved water phase following their hydrophobic nature. Discrepancies from the general rule could account on the existence of colloidal co-determined with the dissolved phase of the water samples.
