Poly[[(μ-3,4-dicarboxytetrahydrofuran-2,5-dicarboxylato-k4O1,O2,O5:O2′)(1,10-phenanthroline-k2N,N′)copper(II)]0.69-hydrate]

In the crystal structure of the title compound, {[Cu(C8H6O9)-(C12H8N2)].0.69H(2)O}(n), the Cu-II atom has a distorted octahedral geometry, coordinated by four O atoms from two 3,4dicarboxytetrahydrofuran- 2,5- dicarboxylate ligands and two N atoms from one 1,10-phenanthroline ligand. One of the carboxylate groups bridges the Cu-II atoms, forming a zigzag chain running along the b axis. The chains are linked by a pi-pi interaction between aromatic rings with a centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.567 (1) angstrom, and by hydrogen bonds between the carboxylate group and the disordered water molecule, forming a three-dimensional network.
