Transdisciplinarity - an Expanding Concept

The article deals with the expansion of the concept of transdisciplinaritate in the writing of Basarab Nicolescu, describing the history of the idea and examining the way it eventually influenced contemporary culture and its reception. The author argues, among other issues, that, as a unifying philosophical discipline, transdisciplinarity may only function as a work in progress, continuously mediating between the so-called exact and human sciences.
