The Status Quo and Trend Analysis of Service Innovation Research

With the global economic trend that service industry became more and more important; the service industry will be the key point among a number of major economic issues of China in the future. Therefore, increasing the service proportion in the national economy and promoting the upgrade of the industry structure will be the most urgent problems required to be solved. The service innovation research has been the hot spot in the academia. Through the collection and integration of the literatures related to the service innovation, this paper firstly analyzed the historical background and the status quo of the service innovation research. Then it compared the research methods of the service innovation home and aboard, and explored the basic theory framework of the service innovation, including the concept, types and modes of service innovation, as well as innovation survey and innovation ability etc. In addition, the paper summarized the research outcome of knowledge - intensive service industry innovation. At last, this paper put forward the trend of service innovation research: on one hand, it is necessary to investigate systematically at the industry level; on the other hand, we should discuss the survey and evaluation of the service innovation ability in practice.
