The ηN scattering length and ηd final states

摘要：
The K-matrix used to describe the coupled piN, etaN, gammaN, pipiN systems favours large 0.7 - 1.05 fm etaN scattering lengths. These generate a sharp cusp, due to a virtual state in the elastic etad amplitude at the threshold. However, its effect on final state interactions in the pn --> etad reaction is shown to be moderate.
