摘要
We registered current-voltage characteristics and breakdown curves of the direct current glow discharge in N2O at different gas pressure values and inter-electrode gap values not exceeding 20 mm. We observed that in a narrow gap (10 mm and less) a normal mode of burning is possible to exist for small discharge current values in a broad range of gas pressure values. In a larger gap (20 mm) the normal mode occurs only in the pressure range to the right of the inflection point of the dc breakdown curve. We demonstrated that the discharge ignition obeyed similarity laws but these laws were violated for narrow gap values.
