摘要
Documentation is very important for management, development and process control. However, it is very tedious and time consuming. Also it is very hard to enforce the documentation standard. In this paper, we proposed and developed an automatic online document generator using XML technology, DocGen, such that we can reuse the document components. It will dramatically save time and resources as one can have 70%-80% draft document generated first and modify it later. One will just add new contents and modify the generated contents at about 30% of the current cost. It will benefit businesses since customers can get a formal, professional document in a very short turn around time. Also it will benefit companies since one spends less time on it but achieves higher quality and enforces the documentation standards. The major features of DocGen include: 1. Providing a format template for business document with XML file. 2. Supplying web interface to customer for formatting individual business documents. 3. Save formatted-finished business documents.
