Effect of content of fluorescent brightening agents on colour change of dyed cotton fabric

摘要：
The effect of fluorescent brightening agents at a range of concentrations on the colour change of cotton fabrics was investigated by means of the CIELab colorimetric system. The reduction of b* (i.e. Deltab*) was determined as a function of the content of the fluorescent brightening agents. By plotting the values of L* versus Deltab* for the dyed fabrics, the critical lightness (L-c*) was calculated which varied according to the hue of the fabrics and the content of the fluorescent brightening agents.
