The Environmental Changes of the Yellow River Basin and the Ecological Countermeasures

The thesis is based on the analysis of the relation between human activity and the environmental changes of the Yellow River Basin from the history period of about five thousand to six thousand years ago till now. The cause of environmental changes is emphasized. The authors point out the physical factors (which is mainly climate and vegetation) are the predisposing cause, but human factor (agricultural action) is the direct cause of the environmental changes. Then the authors point out the three major miseries in the Yellow River. According to them the countermeasures are suggested.
