摘要
Obstructive sleep apnea, upper airway resistance syndrome, and primary snoring are among the most common sleep disorders. They result from complete or partial obstruction of the upper airway during sleep. Diagnosis is based on specific symptoms and signs as well as overnight polysomnography, which should include esophageal manometry when upper airway resistance syndrome is a consideration. Treatment most commonly involves continuous positive airway pressure, although problems with compliance may make an effective combination of surgical options more attractive.
