The Electroconvection (EC) in a poorly electrically conducting fluid through a vertical channel when the walls are held at the same temperature is studied using the modified Navier stokes equation in the presence of a applied electric field generated by the segmented electrodes fixed at the boundaries. Analytical solutions for the nonlinear coupled equations governing the motion are obtained using a regular perturbation method with buoyancy parameter, N(< 1) as the perturbation parameter The effect of electric field on the velocity, temperature, rate of heat transfer, the skin friction, the mass flow rate and the friction factor are computed and the results are depicted graphically.
