摘要
The feasibility of using flat, electrodeless, fluorescent lamps for outdoor signal applications was studied. These applications generally use incandescent lamps, which are energy Inefficient and short lived. The lamps described in this monograph were designed to have a peak luminous intensity of 240 cd throughout life, a rise time of 1 sec to reach the peak luminous intensity for ambient temperatures ranging from -20 degrees C to 60 degrees C, and correct x and y chromaticity coordinates when used with red, yellow, and green colored filters.
