摘要
Discrimination represents one of the current issues of our contemporary society. People are excluded and live in disadvantaged communities from different reasons: nationality, ethnicity, level of education, level of poverty etc. The present research aims to identify the perception of discrimination of students from the University of Resita. The research methods used for the analysis of perceptions and attitudes of discrimination are: the sociological investigation based on questionnaire and the document analysis (the university procedures and regulations). The University of Resita represents a regional and local institution of education, where students from different social environments (including the rural area) attend courses. Our main research hypothesis is to identify whether a level of tolerance exists and if the students' residence or their program of study/ specialty is connected to their discriminatory attitudes. The identification of different forms of discrimination represents a step forward in a fight against it and it also contributes in making our university environment free of discrimination and xenophobia.
