摘要：
The aim of this report is to present a new distributed parameter process (DPP) model of a chip refiner. The DPP model has both time and radius as independent variables and, therefore, is represented by a set of partial differential equations (PDEs). The method of orthogonal collocation is used to reduce the infinite dimensional PDE model to a finite dimensional lumped parameter model for simulation purposes. The strengths and weaknesses of the model are discussed. as well as its potential uses.
