The Impact of Wind Power Inverse-Peaking Characteristics on Power System Low Frequency Oscillation

摘要
With the inverse-peaking characteristic, the variation of wind power daily output is in contrast to that of the load in power system. The output characteristic of wind power impacts the power system more obviously, with the contribution of interconnection of wind farm and large grid and the increasing penetration of wind power. The influence of the wind power inverse-peaking characteristic on the low frequency oscillation (LFO) calls for more and more concerns. Based on the complete model of the doubly fed induction generator(DFIG), eigenvalue analysis is applied to expect its impact on the power system low frequency oscillation in the WSCC 3-generator-9-bus system, respectively in the conditions of high and low load. The result shows that the damping of the modes strongly correlated to the DFIG is enhanced in low-load condition while weakened in high-load one.
