TEACHING THE TEACHERS: EXPERIENCES FROM A DISTANCE COURSE IN CODING FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS

摘要
This paper discusses the experiences and challenges in teaching an (at present) on-going distance learning course in coding for secondary school teachers in Sweden. The findings are based upon a number of short online surveys conducted at different stages of the course as well as informal observation during the physical meetings of the course. The course and study are on-going, but some preliminary challenges include dealing with a high attrition rate, how and when to introduce programming didactics into the course, which programming core elements best suit secondary school teachers and how to accommodate variations in programming knowledge among the participants.
