摘要
The Perturb and Observe (P&O) algorithm is a standard technique used for Maximum Power Point Tracking in Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems due to its simplicity and ease of implementation. This method has a few issues associated with it namely, the problem of oscillation at maximum power point and divergence and slow tracking of the maximum power point during rapidly changing irradiation conditions. To overcome these problems it is proposed to improve the performance of the Perturb and Observe algorithm by including a momentum term in the perturbation similar to that used in back-propagation algorithms. It can be hypothesized that this modification can improve the dynamic performance of Perturb and Observe algorithm and it is the objective of this study validate the hypothesis through simulation studies.
