摘要
Self-treatment of reversible segmental dysfunction is an increasing problem in everyday practice. Automobilization and automanipulation of the spine are widespread among adolescents and young adults. In our experience, there are almost no gender-related differences. The resultant hypermobility of vertebral segments leads to reactive tension with nonspecific head and back pain. Self-manipulation establishes a vicious circle, which leads to complex clinical pictures that are not always easy to treat. Medical history taking and discontinuation of self-treatment are particularly important for successful therapy.
