摘要
The specific features of recent displacements along faults in Prebaikalla and some adjacent regions are considered. The obtained results are interpreted to account for the displacement mechanisms by analysis of the whole complex of the available data. Results of experiments in the fragments of fault zones with microdisplacements initiated by vibrations, impacts, and low-power explosions (up to 10(5) J) are discussed. Results of mechanical effects on faulting are analyzed, and some properties of its response are revealed. A principal possibility of a man-induced effect on active faults to control their stress-strained state, displacement regime, and earthquake generation is substantiated.
