The Relationship of Torque and Different Lateral Displacements for YBaCuO Bulk Above a Permanent Magnet Guideway With "Z" Movement

摘要
In the present, the potential of applying the high temperature superconducting (HTS) technology to rail traffic is increasingly being noticed and gaining much interest. In practical applications, the HTS maglev vehicle may operate a "Z" type movement due to external disturbances such as air currents, railway defects and so on. This paper presents experimental results of this type behavior by studying multi-seeded bulk YBaCuO samples operating in a "Z" type movement with different lateral displacements above a permanent magnet guideway (PMG) in the field-cooling mode. The torque is found to increase with the lateral displacement increasing while torque is zero and has a little change when the lateral displacement is 5 mm and 10mm, respectively. In the longitudinal direction, hysteresis increases with lateral displacement increasing.
