摘要
In this paper, acoustical scattering by a multilayer spherical object that is made of a mixture of an arbitrary number of concentric layers of elastic and acoustic media is analyzed. One of the key feature in the layered scatterer is that it encases a layer of electrorheological fluid. With changing applied electric field, the acoustical properties of the electrorheological fluid would change, and hence achieving a level of tuning of the scattering characteristics. Numerical examples explore the scattering behaviors when such a range of variations is applied, when the EF fluid is modeled as both elastic (propagation only) and viscoelastic (propagation and attenuation) media.
