The Influence of C/N Ratio to Biogas Production from Water Hyacinth as an Aquatic Weed Plant During Liquid Anaerobic Digestion (L-AD)

摘要
Reproducing rapidly causing the water hyacinth plant had been transformed into aquatic weeds. Hyacinth contained water content about 90% was a profit-making in the use as a source of biogas. The purpose of this study was to know the effect of C/N ratio to biogas production by water hyacinth in liquid anaerobic digestion (L-AD). This research was run in batch condition and scale in laboratory. Total solid (TS) content of water hyacinth was 13.52. Addition of Urea controlled C/N ratio content in the batch reactor. Variation of C/N ratio made by 20, 25, 30, and 35. Biogas production was measured for 60 days. The result showed the best biogas production at 30 of C/N ratio. The result of biogas production on C/N ratio of 20, 25, 30, and 35 were 127,81; 127,03; 157,54; and 129,65 ml/gr TS, respectively.
