Philosophy of/and engineering. An introduction to and survey of the engineering and technology problems for the 21st century

Based on the transitions in society the meaning of technology & engineering as well as science as a whole have to change. The paper intends to guide on this transition pathway by going to the roots of engineering by describing shortely the change in world view called paradigm change. The consequences from this change are discussed with key terms like sustainability, economy of growth and non growth, islands of sustainability as strategic approach for subsidiarity and self-organisation as general basis of all changes.
