Comparative Analysis of MPPT Methods for PV System with DC-DC Three-Level Converter

摘要
This paper compares four different maximum power point tracking (MPPT) methods for a photovoltaic system that employs a three-level DC-DC boost converter. The performance of the perturb and observe (P&O), incremental conductance (IC), current sweeping (CS), and extremum seeking (ES) are evaluated using SIMULINK/MATLAB, where real atmospheric conditions are created by changing irradiation and temperature. The results show that the CS has the minimum power oscillation at steady state, but it takes more time to converge. P&O has a fast convergence, while it exhibits more oscillation at steady state. Instead, IC and ES show more moderate combinations of the tracking speeds and steady state oscillations.
