摘要
With the development of connected structures, the span of the connecting body becomes longer, it has been developed from few meters, ten meters to tens of meters even hundreds of meters. Also in most cases, the two towers of the connected structure are asymmetric according to their functional demands; it is showed especially by their different loads, masses and stiffness. This structure has a double characteristic of long-span and asymmetric; therefore during a real earthquake the vibration differences at the base of two towers may bring a different response result. In this paper, from the analysis of multi support seismic excitations under different analytic cases. for the Gate of the Orient', which has a high-rise connected structure, investigating the effects of the phase differences, vibration direction and traveling direction of the seismic waves on the seismic response of connected structure. The result shows, the seismic response, of asymmetric connected structure under multi support excitations is closely related to the stiffness differences between two towers, the phase differences and the propagation direction of seismic waves. From reasonably adjusting the stiffness of the towers, it is able to decrease the torsional effect on the structure in real earthquake efficiently.
