摘要
With the recent trend towards deregulating the power systems around the world. This paper presents the computation of congestion cost through interior point optimal power flow algorithm by using incremental and decremental bid method. The primary objective is to use the existing available generation capacity to its maximum extent and operation of the power system in secure state. To evolve a systematic and simple approach of rescheduling the generators to relieve congestion. Congestion is relieved with the aim of minimizing the congestion cost. The proposed method is tested and validated on IEEE-30 bus reliability test system. The solution obtained are quite encouraging and useful in the present deregulated environment.
