摘要
This paper presents the results of a large scale lateral load test on pile foundations, conducted at Chiayi, Taiwan, for the planned High Speed Rail Project. For the test, a total of 13 bored piles, each of a diameter 1.5m and a length 34m, were constructed for a serious of tests. Among them, two piles were used for single-pile lateral load tests, and six piles were chosen to form a 2 X 3 group for lateral load test. Tests were performed with extensive instrumentations, including measurements of displacements and rotations at pile tops, and flexural deformations and rebar stresses along the pile shafts. By comparing the results of single pile test and group pile test, the group factor of lateral resistance for the bored pile group tested can thus be estimated.
