摘要
In general, the gripppers are used to pick and place the products in the automation industries. Major challenges in this area is to handle the soft materials. At this juncture we design a non-contact gripper called a swirl gripper, which is to be generates swirling air flow to create an upward lifting force. A negative pressure is caused by the centrifugal force of the swirling air flow and is distributed like a parabolic curve to apply a lifting force. This force can be used to pick up the object placed underneath the swirl gripper without any contract. In comparision with conventional pneumatic noncontact grippers, the uniqueness of the new gripper lies in that it is electrically (rather than pneumatically) activated. This paper presents a systematic approach to design and analyze the grapper during material handling and to calculate the lifting fore and stress state produced in the soft materials. The design to be experimentally investigate the characteristics of the pressure distribution, based on which a theoretical analysis on teh swirling flow. Furthermore, we measure the relationship between the lifting force and gap clearance and reveal that exists a leviation zone where an object can maintain a stable levitation. By using this swirl force we attempt to utilize the solar energy in new way. A pyramid shape air tight glass structure with extended chimney to be constructed. At top end of chemnery a small turibine with a generator is mounted, from the sun light convective heat transfer takes place inside the sturucture. Dut to rise of temperature inside the structure air is heated and moves upward direction that time the swirl force will rotate the generator. The results obtained from the theoretical approaches to be validate with the experiment results.
