High-brightness red phosphor, Ca-3(PO4)(2):Eu3+ was prepared by the solid-state reaction. Its photo-luminescent property was investigated and the optimum concentration of Eu3+-doped in the Ca-3(PO4)(2) is 4 mol%. Its concentration quenching process is also studied. The single red light-emitting diode was obtained by combining InGaN chip with the red phosphor. The results show that this phosphor is a promising candidate as a red component for fabrication of NUV LEDs. Crown Copyright (C) 2012 Published by Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
