Discussion of the Physical Education Teaching of Higher Vocational Institutes Based on Information Technology

In this paper discussion has been made in the status quo of the information technology and multimedia application in the physical education teaching of the higher vocational institutes, and an analysis has been made on the existing problems. To better develop the teaching based on information technology and promote the physical and mental healthy development of students, this paper put forward the future development trend and the detailed suggestions. With its rapid development, the information technology carried by computer and multimedia are now challenging the traditional teaching concepts and modes. The multimedia technology possesses special characters and functions in the physical education and teaching process, which is not possessed at all or possessed all by other media. Featured by their rich expressive ability and easy operation, the multimedia and computer-aided teaching could at most meet the study need of students, and to great extent improve the study efficiency. The teaching based on information technology of higher vocational institutes has been widely applied in Chinese, Math, Physics, chemistry and other key subjects, and has achieved very good results. Yet influenced by the test-oriented education, the physical education is usually neglected in the teaching of higher vocational institutes. With the modern concept of quality education accepted by more and more people, the physical education is becoming more popular in both teachers and students. The introduction of multimedia and computer-aided teaching will surely bring changes to the teaching mode, contents, means and methods of the physical education of higher vocational institutes. Therefore, to put an end to the traditional boring teaching modes and finally promote the further development of the physical education teaching based on information technology, this paper discussed the status quo, application and measures of the physical education teaching of higher vocational institutes based on information technology.
