摘要
A novel microstrip monopole antenna with enhanced characteristic has been proposed and presented for UWB applications. It has an Elliptical Triangle Patch resonator "ETP" mounted on a compact FR-4 substrate. Parametric study of the ETP Monopole dimensions has been performed for optimization. Simulation resulted in an UWB of 14.5 GHz, compared to only 7.0 GHz for the conventional rectangular monopole with the same dimensions (Rect_Monopole). In addition, the ETP offers multi-resonances, a VSWR that is less than 1.5, high average gain of 6.75 dB, and good average efficiency of 75%. Reasonable agreement has been achieved between simulated and measured parameters over the entire frequency band.
