摘要
The European intermodal transport sector has been recently considerably developed. The searches for optimal solutions in this area are very intense. Lithuania and neighbouring countries of Eastern and Central Europe, the recent members of European Union, have to integrate themselves into common European transport system. It was the reason for the scientists of Marketing Department of Kaunas University of Technology to join the project for creating the new freight transportation channel between Northern Region and South-eastern Europe. The PolCorridor LOGCHAIN project is concentrating on the development of the intermodal corridor, which will connect Northern European countries with North Italy, North Greece, Slovak Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, former Yugoslavian states and the European part of Turkey. This report presents the united methodology, used to carry out surveys in the relevant European countries and the results of the research under this methodology in Lithuania.
