摘要
Hexadecyl trimethylammonium bromide (HDTMAB)-modified palygorskite with ultrasonic treatment was synthesized, characterized, and examined as a potential adsorbent for removal of bisphenol A (BPA) from aqueous solution. Batch studies were carried out to evaluate various influencing factors. The adsorption mechanism in the BPA/modified-palygorskite system was best described by pseudo-second-order kinetics with a significant contribution of film diffusion. Equilibrium data was fitted perfectly with Langmuir isotherm model, and the maximum monolayer adsorption capacity was 219.30mgg(-1) at 303K. The adsorption process was exothermic, entropy decreased, and spontaneous in nature, and was driven by the collaboration of hydrophobic interaction, dipole-bonding, and hydrogen-bond interaction.
