摘要
The effectiveness of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio for predicting prognosis of idiopathic sudden hearing loss. Objectives: Here we investigate the relationship between idiopathic sudden hearing loss and neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR), mean platelet volume (MPV). and platelet distribution width (PDW), and assess the significance of these markers in predicting response to treatment. Materials and methods: 45 patients and 23 healthy volunteers were included in this retrospective study. Patients were between 18 and 65 years old, diagnosed with idiopathic sudden hearing loss, under the same treatment, and were classified as recovered or unrecovered at the end of treatment. NLR, MPV, PDW and PLR values were determined from complete blood count (CBC) examinations and compared across groups. Results: NLR in the unrecovered group was significantly higher than in the recovered group (Z=2.157; p<0.05), and NLR could be used to predict recovery, as determined by Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis (AUC=0.688, p=0.031, AUC 95% confidence interval: 0.532 - 0.844). MPV was significantly higher in the unrecovered group (F=4.814, p<0.05). Conclusion: NLR and MPV markers can predict prognosis for patients with sudden hearing loss.
