A new species of Armascirus (Acari, Prostigmata, Cunaxidae) from China

In recent years, the taxonomy of mites in general and that of Armascirus Den Heyer, 1978 in particular have made rapid progress in the world (Den Heyer, 1978; Kaluz, 2009; Kaluz & Vrabec, 2013; Kaluz, et al., 2014; Skvarla & Dowling, 2011; Skvarla, et al., 2014; Zhang, 2014a, 2014b). The number of described species of Armascirus is over 40 in the world. There were only two species of this genus recorded in China, Armascirus bison (Berlese, 1888) and Armascirus taurus (Kramer, 1881) (Hu, 1997; Lin & Zhang, 2000), among a total of 48 Chinese species of the Cunaxidae (Lin & Zhang, 2010). In this manuscript a third species-Armascirus jinni sp. nov. collected from Guizhou-is erected. The key to the females of Armascirus by Kaluz (2009) is updated.
