摘要
This study focuses on exergy analysis of a single cylinder four stroke direct injection (DI) diesel engine using 10% (B10), 20% (B20), 30% (B30) and 40% (B40) blending of Koroch seed oil methyl ester (KSOME) with conventional diesel fuel. The analysis corresponds to steady state engine operations under variable load conditions. For each fuel operation at various loads, exergetic performance parameters are evaluated. It was found that the exergy destruction was more with the KSOME fuel blends compared to diesel fuel operation at all the engine loads. Exergy destruction alsio increases with increasing biodiesel content in the blend and it was significantly higher for fuel operation with B40 at various loads. Results also show that the engine exergetic efficiency is less in case of fuel operation with the biodiesel blends. The analysis indicates the scope of further improvement in engine operation with biodiesel fuel blends particularly with B40 and the higher percentage blends.
