摘要
Energy efficiency is a priority issue for the steel industry, because it is the most effective way to tackle the goal of energy savings. The EC forces the member states to increase energy efficiency by a number of laws. One of them is the BAT Reference document Energy Efficiency, which has been developed under the scope of the IPPC directive. Due to the BAT requirements, an energy study of the voestalpine Stahl GmbH site in Linz was performed together with the Vienna University The heat recovery potentials were evaluated and a number of measures were recommended, three of them are described.
