U-series and ESR dating of teeth from Acheulian and Mousterian levels at La Micoque (Dordogne, France)

摘要
We report results of U-series and ESR analyses of 17 horse teeth taken from the upper archaeological layers of the La Micoque site. They show that the deposit is older than 300 ka. For the uppermost layer, ages calculated with the early uptake (EU) model are close to those with linear uptake (LU) models indicating that the real age ranges from 300 to 350 ka. These results are confirmed when we calculate ages with both U-series and ESR data (US model) and allow us to suggest that the deposit is older than 300 ka. (C) 1997 Academic Press Limited.
