摘要
Hazelnut husk compost, cattle manure, and mineral fertilizers were applied to hazelnut trees to determine the effects on nut yield and quality, soil properties, and nutrients in the leaves. Husk compost and manure had the same general effects on soil properties. Husk compost increased the organic matter, phosphorus and potassium in the soil and leaves, and soil biological activity. Compost resisted microbial decomposition better than manure. Thus, the application of compost over a long time should increase hazelnut yield and have positive effects on nut quality. Mineral fertilizer applications increased yields 6-34% more than organic fertilizers, decreased soil pH, increased nitrogen content in the leaves, and increased protein content in the kernels. Applications of husk compost and farm manure also increased yields. Husk compost exhibited organic fertilizer properties, simultaneously providing nutrients to the trees and improving the soil. Applying compost is advantageous for Turkish hazelnut growers in terms of time and cost.
