Thoracoscopic treatment is the best therapy to the SPT. Today, it is applied in over 200 hospitals in Japan. In our Center, over 2200 cases or SPT have been treated thoracoscopically. The recurrence rate is relative high compared with open thoracotomy. The cause of recurrence has been analyzed and revealed the following 2 points: In thoracoscopic treatment, bulla is apt to be over-looked and/or to be new born. We should make up some countermesures.
