Cadmium(II) and zinc(II) azido complexes with different nuclearity and dimensionality

摘要
The reaction of Cd(ClO4)(2)center dot 6H(2)O with the tetradentate tripod amine BPQA (bis(2-methylpyridyl)-2-methylquinolyl-amine) afforded the mononuclear complex [Cd(BPQA)(N-3)(2)] (1), whereas its reaction with the bidentate amines Et(2)Meen (N,N-diethyl-N'-methylethylenediamine) and DMP (2-(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-ylmethyl)pyridine) resulted in the formation of different bridged-azido polymeric 2D- and 1D-chains [Cd-2(Et(2)Meen)2(mu(1,1)-N-3)(2)(mu(1,3)-N-3)(2)](n) (2) and [Cd(DMP)(mu(1,1)-N-3)(2)](n) (3), respectively. The reaction of Zn(ClO4)(2)center dot 6H(2)O with DMP led to the isolation of the doubly bridged EO-azido dinuclear complex [Zn(DMP)(mu(1,1)-N-3)(N-3)](2) (4). The four complexes have been structurally characterized by elemental microanalyses, IR spectroscopy and by single crystal X-ray crystallography. The luminescence properties of [Cd(BPQA)(N-3)] (1) complex and its ligand, BPQA were investigated, where the complex revealed strong fluorescence enhancement. (C) 2013 Elsevier Ltd.
