摘要
Psoriasis is a disease with a significant effect on the patient's quality of life and a strong psychosocial imprint. For these reasons, the gravity of its impact on patients should not be underestimated. The disability caused by psoriasis can be compared to that caused by other chronic diseases such as heart diseases, diabetics, cancer and depressions. The effects of psoriasis skin lesions on patients is enormous, having in view the fact that the cutaneous organ is an integral part of each stage in the human development, the skin being of great influence in cultural, interpersonal and personal areas and it has a fundamental importance in self-esteem and in the development of the person. A huge step ahead in the treatment of patients suffering from psoriazis has been made by the use of biological therapies. Despite their spectacular beneficial results, the biological therapies have also important side-effects which require a careful evaluation of all medical, social and especially ethical aspects.
