The Oral Communication System in the Traditional Algerian Society: An Anthropological Analysis of the Kabyle Folktale

This paper aims at highlighting the specific character of oral culture in the traditional Algerian society and of the most significant oral communication forms in circulation between individuals manifested in various artistic and literary forms handed down by generations through the ages, such as folktale, riddle, Bukala and Ziwrara, which are in fact oral literary and artistic forms of communicational dimen-sions, mainly related to women. Accordingly, we will try to highlight the women's attitude to these communication forms, especially to the folktale in the traditional Kabyle community and its role in socializa-tion and development of communicative competence among children.
