摘要
Given that thermal errors in a crank press can critically reduce machine accuracy, the current study proposes the use of the dynamic thermal error dimension chain method to analyze the thermal errors of the crank press. The thermal error of the complete machine is also determined by the thermal errors of the total components, and the dynamic error dimension chain allows the examination of the relationship between the total thermal error of the crank press and the respective errors of the primary components, such as the frame, crank, connecting rod, and slider. In addition, a finite element method model was developed to predict the temperature distribution change and thermally induced machine tool errors of a crank press. The experiments were conducted on a crank press to verify both the position of the slider running at the bottom dead center and temperature changes at various critical points in the press. The temperature of the respective components rose, resulting in different components affecting the machine tool thermal error at different times.
